Committed to bringing a new, dynamic sound and reputation to classical music, the Prague Cello Quartet regularly performs to enthusiastic crowds in their home country and abroad in a wide variety of venues and stages. In addition to the highest standard of technical ability and musicianship, the quartet presents a fresh approach to audiences, finding creative ways to have the listener actively participate in the concert experience. Due to the limited repertoire for this ensemble, the members regularly arrange their own music, inspired by modern styles ranging from classical to film scores to jazz to pop.
Among their recent concerts, the quartet performed at the Bodensee festival in Germany; Mitte Europa festival in Germany; the Prague Music Festival; Peter Dvorský International Music Festival, where the Prague Cello Quartet debuted as a soloist quartet with the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra. The quartet also performed at places such as the National Theatre of Czech Republic; the Rudolfinum – the home of the Czech Philharmonic, Brno Philharmonic’s concert hall; in a stadium for over 2,500 listeners in Ruzomberok, Slovakia. They also regularly appear in various media in Central Europe, regularly performing on Czech Radio and Proglas Radio, as well as playing and speaking on programs such as TV Lux, TV Noe, and TV Fanda on Czech and Slovakian Television. Collectively, quartet members have won over 10 international competitions, including the International Johannes Brahms Competition (Austria), International Dotzauer Competition (Germany), the Leoš Janáček International Competition (Czech Republic), and their professional soloist experience has taken them throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. Each member of the group brings a unique voice and style to the ensemble, so the combination of these 4 artists is very powerful. In 2014 Prague Cello Quartet released new album “Top Secret” which was recorded in the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert hall, the Dvorak Hall in Prague.
