Committed to bringing a new, dynamic sound and reputation to classical music, the Prague Cello Quartet regularly performs to enthusiastic crowds in their home country and abroad in a wide variety of venues and stages. In addition to the highest standard of technical ability and musicianship, the quartet presents a fresh approach to audiences, finding creative ways to have the listener actively participate in the concert experience. Due to the limited repertoire for this ensemble, the members regularly arrange their own music, inspired by modern styles ranging from film scores to jazz to pop.
Among their recent concerts, the quartet performed last year at the National Theatre of Czech Republic, Brno Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert hall, and for over 1,400 listeners at the Zdar nad Sazavou Castle. They have also appeared in various media in Central Europe, regularly performing on Czech Radio and Proglas Radio, as well as playing and speaking on programs such as TV Lux, TV Noe, and TV Fanda on Czech and Slovakian Television. Collectively, quartet members have won 8 international competitions, including the International Johannes Brahms Competition (Austria) and International Dotzauer Competition (Germany), and their professional experience has taken them throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. Each member of the group brings a unique voice and style to the ensemble, so the combination of these 4 artists is very powerful.
